Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-2012 - February 21 2009

Earlier this year the club conducted a seminar on the Racing Rules of Sailing taught by BSC member Mike Neilson. The club usually conducts a rules seminar every four years to keep members updated when the rules are revised.

Third Thursdays - Summer 2008

In 2008 the club conducted a series of racing seminars taught by the club's top racers. These seminars were designed to improve the racing skills of everyone from rank beginners who have just learned to sail, to experienced club racers. The seminar took racers around the race course from the perspective of the rules, the strategy, and the tactics.

Greg Fisher coaching Buccaneer Sailors

On the Water with Greg Fisher - April 22 2007

Greg Fisher, a North Sails representative and holder of numerous National and North American titles in Thistles, Scots, J/22s and Snipes, is a friend of the club and has conducted seminars at the club over the years. In 2007 Greg conducted a tuning seminar and on-the-water coaching session. Greg provided sailors with on the water observations and feedback. Back on shore he reviewed photos and video to illustrate proper sail trim as well as racing tactics. The lessons learned were priceless to those who attended.

In 2006 Greg taught a classroom session on sail trim and other go-fast techniques.

Suggestions and comments are welcomed.
