BSC RACE RESULTS
PRO: David Glasgow       Sid Browning writes:  Overall winner of the Scot fleet was Charlie & Nancy Fowler sailing “Dances with Bears”, who traveled from Georgia to race with us in this year’s Ironman Regatta. That was really not a big surprise because Charlie has won many District level events in Florida. Second place went to Kevin and Aaron Holland in “Happenin’ Hooptie”  who seem to have a great downwind system developed. Third place went to Margaret Pittenger and her crew. Margaret seems to be sailing much faster since taking the North Sails racing camp in Key West. Saturday was an exercise in reading the winds on the lake and reacting to whatever blew through. It was interesting to watch different boats head for different parts of the course searching for the best wind. Sunday’s course had wind wherever you sailed. Rounding the mark was always time to decide whether to fly the spinnaker, and reevaluating your decision as others either flew theirs, did not fly theirs or simply fought with the spinnaker. Overall it seemed as if the racing between the six boats was quite close at times which kept the entire day full of interest.
