If you enjoy working on race committees, the Birmingham Sailing Club would like you to learn how to become a Principal Race Officer (PRO) for Sunday races and, later, at regattas.
Dave Whikehart, certified US Sailing Club Race Officer, will lead a workshop. This informal, but inclusive session will describe:
- Organization
- Race course setup/ conduction of races
- Signaling
- Scoring
- Some new sailing rules
- Roles of race committee members
- Equipment
- Rescue operations.
- Follow-up on the water training
Workshop will be held indoors and all covid related safety protocols will be in place, including wearing face masks.
A light refreshment will be served but do bring a lunch.
